NORTH HAVERHILL, NH - Rachel Gertrude (Massicotte) Vaillancourt, born September 10, 1915 in Lowell, MA died in North Haverhill, NH on July 19, 2010 on what would have been her 69th wedding anniversary to Albert J. Vaillancourt, who predeceased her on February 27, 2000.
Born and raised in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Pronovost) Massicotte.
Rachel worked at Grace Shoe in Lowell as a fancy stitcher. She was an avid reader as well as very gifted in quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and various crafts.
Rachel was an active member of Sainte Marie's Church in Lowell, MA prior to her move to North Haverhill, NH in 1999 where she was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church in Woodsville, NH.
Rachel was beloved by all who knew her and especially by her survivors which include two sons, Donald Vaillancourt and his wife Kathleen, George Vaillancourt, two daughters Lorraine Atkins and her husband Harvey, Claire Kalil and her husband Frank, three grandchildren Valerie (Atkins) Franchi, Susan Atkins and David Atkins, three great-grandchildren Jake, Noah and Matthew Franchi, three brothers Henry Massicotte, Leo Massicotte and Louis Massicotte, three sisters Yvonne Arpin, Alice Roy and Doris Bourassa.
