Phyllis Goulakos, Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother
LOWELL – Phyllis R. (Woessner) Goulakos, went to join her beloved identical twin, the late Pauline McCullough in Heaven on June 7, 2016.
She was born to Faye Young and Gustave Woessner and was raised by her dear "mimi" Elizabeth Woessner and "Nunny" Alice Sanick, whom she adored.
Phyllis was married to the late Evangelos Goulakos.
She worked in the Lowell public schools in the dietary department and previously had worked at St. John's Hospital in the housekeeping department.
Phyllis was a loving, kind, and gentle person to everybody. She loved spending time with her twin taking trips to Salisbury Beach and flea markets, and helping to raise her grandchildren. She also enjoyed politics, WBZ talk radio, watching the flowers bloom in the spring, and spending time in prayer with her Lord.
She attended Chelmsford Street Baptist Church in Lowell.
Phyllis was a stay at home mother who raised seven children, Tom Goulakos (Kim), Paul Goulakos, who was her devoted caretaker, Elizabeth Greenwood (Tim), Cynthia Goulakos, the late Stephen Goulakos, Karen Goulakos, RN, whom she affectionately referred to "Doctor Karen", and Debbie Howard, RN; nine grandchildren, Elaine, Timmy, Tommy, Steven, Nena, Nicholas, Stephen, Chelsea, and Joel; four great grandchildren, Neveah, Michael, Tristan, and Stephen. She was also survived by her sister, Martha O'Day; her cousin Margaret Donnelly; and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen Goulakos, her best friend and companion, Pauline McCullough, and her sisters Faye McCullough and Barbara Pagajuan.
Her family would like to thank the EMS and Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus staff for their exceptional professionalism and compassion shown to her and a special thank you to Armand Hebert for making her dream come true.
She will forever be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
