Obituary- Philip W. Knight
Lowell- Philip W. Knight, 46, a Christian Hill resident, died unexpectedly Sunday April 16, 2006 at Saints Memorial Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Linda M. (Brown) Knight. Mr. Knight was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 28, 1959, the youngest child of John H. and Janet (Altemus) Knight of Chelmsford. Mr. Knight served twenty two years in the Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant, served eleven years with the 351st General Hospital at Hanscom Air Force Base and was in the 368th Engineer Battalion in Rochester, NY. Mr. Knight was employed by Wang Labs in Lowell and TNT Red Star in Billerica. Mr. Knight was raised in Chelmsford, attended Chelmsford Schools and was a graduate of Nashoba Regional Technical High School, The Peterson School for Heating and Air Conditioning- Woburn and A.T.I.-Woburn. An active volunteer for the City of Lowell, he was a Trolley Flagman for the National Parks Department for seven years, served on the Lowell Democratic Committee and belonged to the Centralville Gardener's. Mr. Knight was a Patriot's fan and a proud member of Red Sox nation. He was an avid model railroader, loved all seasons and enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. He had many hobbies including painting and creating stained glass. He thoroughly enjoyed playing with his two granddaughters.
Surviving him besides his wife and parents are two daughters, Maria A. Knight of Chelmsford, Barbara A. Knight and her Fianc�, Matthew Perin, of Chelmsford; a sister Janet Korytoski and her husband Tom of Whately, MA; two brothers, John H. Knight, Jr. of Astoria, NY and Patrick T. Knight and his wife Faith of Billerica; two granddaughters, Alyssa M. and Alexia N. Perin of Chelmsford and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves a special aunt, Helen Knight of Billerica and a niece, Ellen McEneny of Portland, ME. He was the former husband of Maryann Valdes of Dracut.
