Philip G. Elie, Sr., 76, a lifelong Dracut resident died Wednesday February 22, 2012. He was the husband of the late Carol J. (Sullivan) Elie with whom he was married for 46 years.
Born in Dracut on June 23, 1935, he was a son of the late Frederick and Odile (Bisson) Elie.
Philip was enlisted in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960 earning the rank of PFC.
He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 315 of Dracut and Club Passe-Temps of Lowell.
He was the devoted father of Darlene M. Pederson and her husband, Donald of Dracut, Philip G. Elie, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of Dracut and Kenneth P. Elie and his partner, Edward Hurley of Peabody; four sisters, Irene Boynton of Nashua, NH, Gertrude Masse of Dracut, Elizabeth Adams and her husband, Richard of Nashua, NH, Marie Lussier and her husband, Robert of Dracut; two grandchildren, Jessica Pederson and her fiancé, Shawn Radzvin and Donald Pederson, Jr., all of Dracut; two great grandchildren, Anthony Pederson and Aidan Radzvin both of Dracut; sisters and brothers -in-law, Annette Elie and Therese Elie both of Dracut, Donat Rousseau of Methuen, Helen Elie of Florida; many nieces and nephews including his beloved nephew, Thomas Petros, Jr. and niece, US Senator, Kelly Ayotte; and several dear friends. He was a brother of the late, Rudolph, Roger, Robert, Norman and Marcel Elie, Madeliene Petros and Therese Rousseau and brother-in-law of the late Roland Ayotte, Lawrence Boynton, Henry Masse and Thomas Petros.
