Pearl S.(Renaud) Petzold

Pearl S. (Renaud) Petzold, a resident of Danvers and formerly of Lowell, passed away on Thursday February 5, 2015. She was 92.

Pearl was born in Lowell, on July 3, 1922, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Laura (Brissette)Renaud.

She lost her hearing at a young age, but that never deterred her. She graduated high school at the Beverly School for the Deaf, and lived her life to the fullest.
"Big P" as her sons liked to call her. was an avid card and bingo player, she taught her sons to play poker. An avid sports fan, Pearl loved to watch Red Sox and Bruins games. She would sometimes have two televisions set up when more than one of her teams were playing.
Pearl relished her social life. She would look forward to a road trip with her friends whenever possible. It could be a ride to Hampton or Salisbury Beach, Foxwoods Resort, or across the country. As long as she was spending time with her friends she was happy. She was a member of the Lawrence Deaf Club, and was one of the first residents of the Thompson Home for the Deaf in Danvers. Pearl would regularly attend Mass for the deaf there.
Pearl's family describe her as a feisty woman with an awesome sense of humor. She was devoted to her family.
Surviving her are two sons and a daughter in law, Kevin Petzold of Barrington, NH, Gary Petzold and Kathleen Ryder of Dunstable; five granddaughters who adored their Nana, Tiffany, Courtney and her fiancé David Salima, Lexi, Bria, and Quinn Petzold. She was the sister of the late Viola O'Brien and Russell Renaud.
