Pauline Lemire, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on April 24, 2025 at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Lemire.
Born in Lowell on July 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Flore (Rondeau) and Eugene Marcotte. She was educated at St. Joseph’s school in Lowell and earned her GED in her later years. Pauline worked as a seamstress at local dress shops in Lowell. She later worked as a secretary at Wang Labs. Her last position was the secretary in the Dietary Department at Lowell General Hospital.
Pauline belonged to her French Club, Le Cercle Jeanne Mance and was an officer for the Ladies Cribbage League at the former East End Club. She enjoyed playing rummy cube with her grammar school friends weekly, was an avid cribbage player with the Dracut Senior Center and the American Legion Dracut Post. Pauline was also a former member of the Thursday Ladies Golf League at Pine Valley golf course in Pelham, NH. She spent many days/nights having fun with her best friends, the Wu Wu Sisters, especially Mary Rowe. Some of her fondest memories were made during her 50 years at Ossipee Lake camping area during the summer months.
Pauline’s most treasured times were spent with her family making memories. She will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor.
Pauline is survived by her son Robert Lemire and his wife Diane; her two grandchildren, James Lemire and his wife, Hilda of Londonderry, NH and Melanie Gagnon and her husband, Gerald III of Londonderry, NH; her five treasured great-grandchildren, Joel, Alexxis, Grace, Gerald IV and Brooks; her beloved brother, Eugene Marcotte, Jr.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Armand Marcotte and her sisters, Cecile Marcotte, Germain Duffy, Georgette Corcoran and Doris Leary.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pauline’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Rita Church, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
