Pauline A. Leigh

Pauline (Chaput) Leigh, 78, a Lowell resident, died Friday February 6, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lowell on September 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jeremie and Laura (Coulombe) Chaput.
Pauline attended St. Louis Grammar School and St. Louis Academy. Post graduation she passed the civil service exam and accepted a position as a stenographer with the Navy Department in Washington, D.C.
After returning to Lowell, she worked for Raytheon for a period of time and then worked with her brothers at Chappy's Auto Repair until her retirement in 1991.

She is survived by her son, Richard Leigh and his wife Dianne of Lowell; her daughter, Pamela Parker and her husband Jim of St. Stephens, SC; two brothers, Howard "Howie" Chaput and his wife Priscilla and Rudolph "Rudy" Chaput all of Dracut; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law. She also leaves many wonderful and caring friends.
She was the mother of the late Diana (Leigh) Hodge and the sister of the late Ralph and Walter "Chappy" Chaput.
