Pauline P. (Landry) Hoar, age 94, a longtime resident of Lowell died unexpectedly Sunday, April 7, 2024 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late George F. “Buddy” Hoar who died in 1986.
She was born in Epping, NH on October 14, 1929, and was a daughter of the late William and Leah (Pellerin) Landry. She attended St. Peter School in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Pauline spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family. Earlier in life she was employed for many years as a scrub technician at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing in cribbage leagues with her husband.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Constance Dinsmore and her husband Roland of Woburn; two sons, Thomas Hoar of Lowell and Dennis Hoar and his wife Barbara of Dunstable; five grandchildren, Heather Carlson and her husband Kenneth of Woburn, Jessica Oar of Andover, Erik Hoar and his wife Victoria of Dunstable, Thomas Dinsmore and his wife Kimberly of Londonderry, NH and Ryan Hoar of Litchfield, NH; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Landry of Nashua, NH and Richard Landry and his wife Marcia of Littleton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Michael Hoar and the sister of the late William Landry and Lorraine Cormier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pauline’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00am followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pauline’s memory to High Pointe Hospice House, C/O Care at Home Philanthropy Office, 360 Merrimack St., Suite 425, Lawrence, MA 01843.
