Pauline J. (Burgess) Hand

Pauline J. (Burgess) Hand, 94, wife of the late James F. Hand, passed away peacefully at her Dracut residence on Monday, May 9, 2016, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Dracut on February 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Reinoldy P. (Rhomberg) Burgess.
Pauline was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1939.
She had worked as a bookkeeper for the Ideal Dress Company, the Southwell Combing Company and QEI. She had also been employed by the Town of Dracut in the Office of Veteran's Affairs.
In earlier years, she enjoyed helping her mother at the family's farm in Dracut, especially the sleigh ride parties held at the farm. She was a talented artist.
A devout Catholic, Pauline was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis Church.
She was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother.
Pauline leaves her two daughters, Paula J. Greene of Center Harbor, NH and Sallie C. Hand of Dracut; two brothers, Thomas W. Burgess of NH and Charles R. and Estelle Burgess of Dracut; three grandchildren, Amy E. Greene of Holderness, NH, Charles F. Greene of New Britain, CT and Patrick J. Flathers of Dracut; also many nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Francis, Raymond and Mary Rena Burgess.
