Pauline L. Deschene

June 10, 1927 — May 16, 2025

Lowell

Pauline L. (Hamel) Deschene, 97, a resident of Lowell, died on Friday, May 16, 2025 at d’Youville Senior Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis G. Deschene, until his passing in 2007.

Born in Pembroke, NH on June 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Florida (Desmairas) and Alexander Hamel. For many years Pauline worked as a stitcher in the textile industry and later for Electro Circuits in Lowell, inspecting and soldering circuit boards.

She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and was known to be a terrific baker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well. Every year she looked forward to her week spent at Lake Winnipesaukee, where she loved being outdoors and sitting out in the sunshine.

Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her family and the unconditional love she had for her grandsons and great-grandsons all-encompassing.

She was a member of the Dracut Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, more recently of the Lowell location.

Pauline is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jeanine Hartnett and her husband Charles of Lowell, her grandsons, John Wallace, Jr. and Jeffrey Wallace and his wife, Katrina; her two great-grandsons, Dylan and Liam; her sister, Lucille Lorranger of Houston, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of the staff at d’Youville and Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion for Pauline during her time spent with them.

Per Pauline’s wishes, all services will be held privately. Burial took place in Westlawn II Cemetery, Lowell.
