Lowell - June 26, 2011 in Lowell: Pauline M. (Ouellette) Coffey, widow of Humphrey J. Coffey who died in 1987; the daughter of the late Paul J. and Christine (Ducharme) Ouellette; mother of her devoted sons Richard J. Coffey and his wife Denise (Ducharme), Dennis P. Coffey and his wife Donna (Finneral), and the late H. Gerard Coffey; loving grandmother of Christine M. Chew and her husband Chee of Seattle WA, Kathleen A. Chanthaboun and her husband Sye of Andover, and Sarah E. Coffey of Somerville; great-grandmother of four precious great-grandchildren, Arden Chew, Owen Chanthaboun, Mira Chew, and Noah Chanthaboun; sister of Roger Ouellette and his wife Madelaine of Woburn, Normand Ouellette and his wife Fleurette of Nashua NH, ; sister-in-law of Murielle Ouellette of Dracut; and also aunt to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Rudolphe “Red” Ouellette, Lorraine Janowicz, Theresa Ouellette, Rev. Lionel Ouellette, Reginald Ouellette, and sister in law of the late Stanley Janowicz, Catherine Patricia Ouellette, Mary Coffey, Estelle Coffey and Elizabeth Coffey.
Born Oct. 16, 1919 in Lowell, she graduated from St. Louis Grammar School, St. Louis Academy, and Lowell Commercial College. She worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.) and at Whittemore Ordinance Depot at Fort Devens during World War II, and for over 20 years for the U. S. Air Force at Hanscom AFB. She received the Certificate of Service Award for 31 years of civilian service in the Department of Defense.
She was a member of St. Margaret’s Parish since 1948. She was a member & past prefect of St. Margaret’s Sodality, a member and past officer of the Lowell League of Catholic Women, a member of the St. Louis Academy Alumnae, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and more recently, a member and a vice president of the Middlesex Women’s Club.
She enjoyed going to Cape Cod, and travelling to Florida, New Mexico, Seattle, WA, and in particular to Paris, France.
