DRACUT - Paul A. Plourde, Sr., 71, a Dracut resident, passed away following a lengthy illness on Tuesday evening, June 6, 2017, at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Judith E. (McDougall) Plourde with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on December 12, 1945, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rolande (Bouchard) Plourde.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Plourde was employed by the Soloman Mental Health Hospital of Lowell.
He was a life member of the Club Passe Temps of Lowell. Paul enjoyed scratch tickets, especially 40X, watching the Boston Red Sox and listening to doo-wop music.
Most important to Mr. Plourde was the love of his family, spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul's family would like to give a special thank you to the Lowell General Hospital staff, especially those in the respiratory unit, who gave him compassionate care during his illness.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son; Paul A. Plourde, Jr. and his wife Doris (Bevins) of Lowell; two daughters; Tina M. (Plourde) Nickles and her husband Stephen Nickles, Jr. and Jodie L. (Plourde) Hanlon and her husband Sean, all of Dracut, nine grandchildren; Paul A. Plourde, III, Justin Hudon, Jonathan Plourde, Kevin Bearden, Jr., Mathew Plourde, Brittany Plourde, Makayla Nickles, Jurnee Hanlon and Sean P. Hanlon; three great grandchildren; Anthony, Janelle and Angelina, six siblings; Dolores "Dolly" McGillicuddy of Lowell, Robert and Donna Plourde of Lowell, Doris and Benjamin Worthen of VT, Roger "Ernie" Plourde of Dracut, Rosie and Charles Hildreth and Deborah McCabe, all of Lowell; four brothers-in-law; Albert and Raymond Normandin, both of CA, Donald and Carol McDougall of Epsom, NH, and Robert McDougall of Dracut; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was a brother of the late Raymond, Ronald and Alfred Plourde, Dorothy Young, Rolande "Tiger" Plourde and Theresa Maheu; son-in-law of the late Joseph and Ethel (Norman) McDougall and brother-in-law of the late John McDougall.
