N. CHELMSFORD - Paul O. Paquette, 94, a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of Lowell died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in North Chelmsford. He was the husband of the late Jeannette L. (Descoteaux) Paquette, who died in 1995.
He was born in Lowell on May 5, 1922, and was a son of the late Ulric D. and Alphonsine (Pitt) Paquette. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1941.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 33 years as a truck driver for the City of Lowell. He then went on to work for another 25 years at Green Meadow Golf Club in Hudson, NH, where he was also a lifetime member and was club champion in 1967.
Paul was a former communicant of St. Louis de France Parish in Lowell.
He was an avid golfer and shot two holes in one during his life. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of St. Louis de France Parish League.
Paul's family would like to thank the staff, especially Nina of Brookdale Senior Living and the staff of Beacon Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they gave to him.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Paquette of Lowell; his daughter-in-law, Elaine Wright of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Marleen Paquette and her fiance Michael Brouillette of Hudson, NH, Cherie Fitton and her companion Ron Poirier of Nashua, NH, David Paquette, Jr and his companion Heather Baptiste of Lowell, Joseph Smith and his wife Lisa of Tyngsboro, Lynne Jackman and her husband Barry of Saco, ME, Fred Wright and his wife Colleen of Merrimack, NH, and Steven Wright and his wife Ellen of Lowell; 10 great grandchildren, Connor, Cory, Rachael, Liam, Fred, Jr., Casey, Steven, Jr., Alecia, Stacey, and Joseph; four great great grandchildren, Henry, Nathaniel, Emma Jeannette, and Jack; a sister, Blanche Oliver of Hampstead, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the step-father of the late Fred C. Wright and the late Joanne B. Ouellette and the brother of the late Theresa, Pauline, Fernende, Roland, George, Archie, Maurice, and John.
