Rev. Paul J. Frank, OMI, 88, died October 5, 2011, in Wilton Manors, FL. He was born on May 6, 1923, in Pittsfield, MA, a son of the late Harold and Kathleen (Best) Frank.
Fr. Frank was educated in Pittsfield, MA, and Buffalo, NY. He entered the novitiate of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in September, 1942, and professed his first vows on September 8, 1944. On May 29, 1950, he was ordained to the priesthood.
Fr. Frank served in many Oblate locations. He served at DeMazenod Mission House in Fayetteville, NC, as Director and Bursar. He served at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, FL. He served the parishes of Holy Angels, Buffalo, NY; St. Patrick, McCook, NE; St. Jude, Sumter, SC; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Grand Rapids, MI; Sacred Heart, Lowell, MA; St. Stephen, Miramar, FL; and St. George, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Upon retirement, he assisted at St. John the Baptist Parish in Ft. Lauderdale until the summer of 2011.
Fr. Frank is survived by a sister, Kathleen Frank, of West Yarmouth, MA. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Lawrence Frank.
