Laconia, NH - Paul C. Eleftherios, 88, a resident of Gilford, NH, died Sunday morning, December 31, 2006 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH. He was the husband of the late Alice B. (Perrault) Eleftherios.
Born in Lowell on June 29, 1918, he was a son of the late Christos and Stella (Spanos) Eleftherios.
Mr. Eleftherios attended Lowell Public Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He served with the United States Army during World War II, stationed in the Western Pacific Theater. He served with the 77th Infantry Division also known as the "Statue of Liberty Division".
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Eleftherios ran the luncheonette at the old Y.M.C.A. located on the corner of Shattuck, Merrimack and Dutton Streets. He also ran the snack bar at Gilford Beach in Gilford, NH.
Mr. Eleftherios was a former resident of the Highlands section of Lowell and while residing in the city had attended the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He lived in Ft. Lauderdale Florida for a number of years prior to his move to New Hampshire.
He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the Lowell Lodge of Elks.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Christos P. Eleftherios and his wife Abby of Pottstown, PA; a daughter, Paula A. Frye and her husband Randall of Lowell; three step-daughters, Lorraine D. Reese of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Dorothy A. Clement and her husband Donald of Dunstable and Barbara J. Hurley and her husband Thomas of Vero Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Dustin Frye, both of Lowell; twelve step-grandchildren, Kimberly Bouis, Karen Hinsen, Kathy Rimart, Thomas Reed, Donald Clement Jr., Daniel Clement, Dennis Clement, Daryl Clement, Dodi Koziol, Darice Tremblay, Lisa Wood and Lori Stowell; also many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his companion, Louise LaBollita of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and her children, and dear friends, Juan and Lourdes Morales of Gilford, NH. He was the step-grandfather of the late Richard W. Patenaude Jr.
