Paul E. Duquette, 74, a longtime Lowell resident died Friday March 2, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital following a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of Elaine M. (Chartier) Duquette with whom he had been married for 31 years.
Born in Whitinsville (Northbridge), MA on September 3, 1937, he was a son of the late John B. and Irene M. (Beauchesne) Duquette.
Paul was educated at St. Joseph Grammar and High School in Lowell. He went on to attend the former Lowell University where he was a proud member of the ROTC. He also served in the United States Army Reserves.
Paul worked for many years at Honeywell Bull in Lawrence. Later he became the business manager at the former St. Louis de France Church in Lowell. Most recently, Paul was pastoral associate and bulletin editor at Ste. Marguerite d'Youville Parish in Dracut where he was a faithful communicant. He was a member of La Chorale Orion and Spindle City Singers.
Paul had a great devotion to God and his Church. His work at church was his passion.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marc and Pamela Duquette, Normand Duquette and his friend, Hershel Nunez, Michelle Kavanaugh and her husband, Ed, Renee Grigg and her husband, Brian, Denis Duquette and his friend, Chris Carroll, Therese Colman and her husband, Nestor; six grandchildren, Aimee Duquette, Aron Duquette, Elise Grigg, Tanner Bogner, Salihah Bogner, Catherine Paluzzi; a sister, Pauline Chandonnet and her husband, Raymond; a sister-in-law, Rita Chartier; dear friends, Frank and Elaine Bourret; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre deceased by his granddaughter, Rita Marie Finneral.
