– Paul Patrick Dawson, 79, a Lowell resident, died following a period of declining health on Friday morning, April 20, 2012 at the Lowell General Hospital, with his loving family in his presence.
Born in Lowell on October 1, 1932, he was a son of the late William J. and Henrietta F. (Newell) Dawson.
Mr. Dawson served with the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 until 1955 and received the National Defense Service Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the National Grid Company as a lineman. He was a member of the IBEW Local 125.
He is survived by three sisters, Sr. Joan Therese Dawson, SCO of Wellesley, twin sisters, Joan M. Joaquin of Methuen and Jean T. Conery and her husband Sherman of Peaks Island, ME.
Paul was the longtime companion of the late Nancy J. (Scullion) Zango and is survived by her children, Christine M. Masse and her husband Jamie, Erin E. Rawnsley and her husband Michael, all of Lowell and William C. Zango, Jr. of Brookdale, CA; also Nancy's grandchildren, Sarah, Jillian, Lauren and William Masse. He leaves several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was a brother of the late William J. Dawson and Joseph "Buddy" Dawson and brother-in-law of the late Martha Dawson, Mildred Dawson and Arthur Joaquin.
