Dracut

Paul R. Bailey, 83, a lifelong resident of Dracut and the beloved husband of Irene A. (Bechard) Bailey, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital. Paul Bailey was born in Lowell on September 23, 1941, and was the son of the late Raymond and Juliette (Lucier) Bailey. He grew up and was educated in Dracut. Paul retired from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Lincoln Laboratory, located on the eastern edge of Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, where he worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. 

Paul found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, passionately embracing activities like fishing, camping, and woodworking. His heart truly thrived in the moments spent with his cherished family. Deeply rooted in his faith, he was a devoted member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church in Dracut, where he connected with his community.

Surviving Paul, in addition to his wife Irene, with whom he was married for 65 years, are his children and their spouses: John and Kathryn Bailey of Westminster, Joseph Bailey of Dracut, Stephen Bailey of Nashua, NH, Gerard Bailey of Allenstown, NH, and Juliette and Allen Kennedy Jr. of Hudson, NH; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Rondeau of Pelham, NH; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was the father of the late Thomas Bailey and the brother of the late Donald Bailey and Jeanne Asselin.

Relatives and friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church, 1340 Lakeview Ave. Spring burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Dracut.
