Patricia Ann "Pat" Lyddy Nichols

HUDSON, NH – Patricia Ann "Pat" (Lyddy) Nichols, 80, a resident of Hudson, NH and former resident of Lowell, MA, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Mass General Hospital (MGH). She was the beloved wife of Donald R. Nichols, to whom she was married to for 59 years.

She was born in Lowell on May 22, 1937, and was a daughter of the late Austin and Annette (Beauregard) Lyddy. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

Prior to her retirement, Pat was employed for many years by ALIGN CU (NMTWCU) and Sweetheart Plastics. In recent years, Pat served the Town of Hudson, NH as a member of the Board of Selectman as well as serving on the Benson Park Committee. Earlier in life, during the 1970's and 1980's she was actively involved in the Notre Dame Panthers Drum Corps in Lowell.

Pat loved to travel. Taking trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, Walt Disney World, gambling at local casinos, and taking long drives with her loving husband brought her much happiness. Her greatest joy however, was her 5 grandchildren who she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cathleen and Bruce Carpenter of Lowell, her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Louise Nichols of Littleton; her five grandchildren, Michaela, Julia, Josh, Ethan, and Emma; a brother Austin Lyddy and his longtime companion Ruth Ross of Spring Hill, Fl.; a sister, Denise Lyddy and her fiancé, Bruce Ouellette of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Lyddy and the late Cheryl (Cheri) Stafford-Rogers.

It being her wish, there will be no visitation, services will be private, and she will be interred in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Donations may be made in Pat's memory to MGH, C/O Development Office, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston MA, 02114-1101.
