STONEHAM - Patricia M. (DiSessa) Beland, age 78, a resident of Stoneham, died Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Normand J. Beland, Sr. who died in 2008.
She was born in Cambridge on December 12, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Yolanda (Lombardi) DiSessa. She received her education in Arlington schools and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She also attended Katharine Gibbs School in Boston.
Prior to her retirement, Patricia was employed for over 25 years as a secretary for the Waste Management Division at the Environmental Protection Agency in Boston.
In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, going to the beach, holiday gatherings, especially Christmas, and going on day trips, vacations and cruises. However, her greatest joy came from spending time in the company of her loving family, especially her adoring grandchildren, who loved to listen to her imaginative fairy tales.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark A. Beland and his wife Pauline of Derry, NH and Normand J. Beland, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Burlington; five grandchildren, Bryanna Weatherby and her husband Cameron, Jason Beland, Jessica Beland, Rebecca Beland, and Michael Beland; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Constance Moretti.
BELAND - Due to current gathering restrictions, there will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Graveside Service on Wednesday, July 15, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford. Face masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's memory to American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St , Suite 250 Framingham, MA 01701.
