Pamelia A. Monette

Pamelia A. (Gagnon) Monette, 90, a longtime Dracut resident, widow of the late Gerald C. Monette who died in 1993, died peacefully, Thursday May 28, 2009 following a brief illness.

Born in Lowell on October 5, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Albertina (Drolet) Gagnon.

Pam was educated in the Lowell school system.

Mrs. Monette, along with her husband, owned and operated the Haven Restaurant in Dracut for more than forty years. She and her husband also owned the Blue Moon Restaurant in Lowell and Mae's Tea Room.

She was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut. She was a member of the League of Catholic Women and the St. Francis Widow and Widowers Group of Dracut. Pam was an active member of the Centralville Senior Citizens Club and was also active at the Lowell and Dracut Senior Centers.

She was a volunteer for many years at the Saints Medical Center Thrift Store.

She enjoyed many pastimes but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Lafferty of Hudson, NH, Charline French of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Moore and his wife, Kerry of Nashua, NH, Colleen Brown and her husband, Edward of Westford, Katherine Vienneau and her husband, Rey of Westford, Thomas Lafferty of Tyngsboro, Gerald Moore, Jr. and his wife, Megan of Raleigh, NC; eight great grandchildren, Thomas, Jacob and Emma Lafferty, Drew, Sean and Nate Brown, Jocelyn Vienneau and Kayleigh Moore.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Thomas Lafferty and a sister of the late, Alfred, Florence, Henry and James Gagnon, Gloria Eno and Eileen Clark.
