Oren Peter Lee, 70, a longtime Lowell resident and a Vietnam Veteran, died Friday afternoon at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody after a lengthy illness. Born in the Chinatown section of Boston on November 7, 1942, Mr. Lee was a son of the late Quing Fook Lee and Elsie Soo Hoo and received his education in the Boston schools.
Mr. Lee served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and served as a Communication Specialist. He was a bartender in the Dracut and Lowell Area for many years in the following establishments, Deb's Lakeview Lounge, Georges Café, Diamonds, J.J.Boomers, the Apsara Restaurant and Lounge, O.J. Lounge, Stingers Lounge, Shooters Lounge and China Sails in Boston.
Mr. Lee is survived by two sons, Bobby Lee and his wife Melody of Tyngsboro and Bruce Lee and his wife Samantha of Lowell; three daughters, Linda Lee of California, Deborah Lee of Boston and Holly Lee of Lowell; 9 Grandchildren; a Great Grandson; a brother, Ned Lee and his wife Annie of Mississippi; a sister, Anna Billmyer and her husband Ronald of Milton, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Lee was also the brother of the late Nancy Lee, Henderson Paul Lee and Wesley J. Lee.
