DRACUT - Normand G. Rondeau, 86, passed away with his loving family by his side, on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joan S. (Forrest) Rondeau. Normand was predeceased by his first wife, Rita A. (Denommee) Rondeau.
Born in Lowell on June 16, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles and Alice (Moreau) Rondeau.
Mr. Rondeau served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in 1952.
A local contractor, he was the owner/operator of Lundstedt & Rondeau, Inc. for over 53 years.
Mr. Rondeau was an avid ten pin bowler and was a member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman's Club.
A former resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, he was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Normand is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Louise and Anthony Robinson of Somerset, England, Denise and Stephen Fleming of Cheshire, England and Alyce and Frederick Gavriel of Lowell; three step sons and their spouses, Daniel J. and Mickey Gaudet of Clifton, NJ, David S. and Karen Gaudet of Pelham, NH and Norman J. and Stacey Gaudet of Nashua, NH; 9 grandchildren, Lara and Sophie Robinson, Heather and Brittany Fleming, Socrates Gavriel and his wife Elizabeth, Olivia Bird and her husband Jeremy, Alexander, Spencer and Austin Gavriel; 6 step-grandchildren, Scott and Samantha Gaudet, Robert and Stephen Gaudet and Bryan and Caleigh Gaudet; a brother-in-law, Paul Mayotte of NH; also many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Gerald "Ricky" Rondeau and brother of the late Roland and Raymond Rondeau, Noella Gaudet, Lillian Rondeau, Rita Gagnon, Teresa Whittick, Irene Rondeau, Claire Mayotte and Donald Rondeau.
SERVICES - Relatives and friends are invited to Normand's Life Celebration on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
