LACONIA, NH - Normand Leonce Morrissette, 88, a resident of Laconia, NH, for the last several years, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Laconia Center Genesis Eldercare with his loving family by his side. Normand was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline (Gagne) Morrissette in 1958 and by his second wife, Catherine (Cunningham) Morrissette in 2005.
Born in Lowell on November 27, 1929, he was a son of the late Fernando and Laura (Frechette) Morrissette.
A former resident of Lawrence and Lowell, he had been a parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Lawrence and the former St. Louis de France Church in Lowell.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a theatrical and stage engineer with I.A.T.S.E., Local 11, Boston, working on many sets including the former TV show, Spencer for Hire.
Normand loved to take care of other people and could be seen snow blowing all of his neighbors sidewalks following a snowstorm. He enjoyed theater, being outdoors, and had a special affection for dogs.
Normand leaves two children, Diane Spinney and her husband George of Valley Cottage, NY and Dennis Morrissette and his wife Doris of Laconia, NH; six grandchildren, Joseph and Laura Spinney, Derek, Sarah, Jesse and Justin Morrissette; several great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Gail Morrissette of Lowell; a sister, Aline Morrissette of Tewksbury. He was the father of the late Robert, Paul and Richard Morrissette and brother of the late Henry "Bill" Morrissette.
