Normand G. Comtois, age 78, died at home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores R. “Dolly” (Hamel) Comtois, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on February 15, 1946 and was a son of the late Laura (Gauthier) and Gerard Comtois. Prior to his retirement, Normand worked for Raytheon doing subcontracts for 50 years. His time at Raytheon was something he cherished an spoke about proudly even after retirement.
Normand was an avid bowler and achieved three perfect games. He loved traveling with Dolores and his family, working in his yard and watching sports, especially the Red Sox. He also was an extremely proud “Pepere” to his three granddaughters. He never missed a dance recital and loved to take them out to breakfast or lunch to talk about “what’s new.”
In addition to his wife, Dolores is survived by his two children, Danielle Blades and her husband, Shawn and Marc Comtois and his wife, Debra of Pelham, NH; his three grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney and Lily Blades; his sister, Sue Peacock and her husband, Dave of Lowell; as well as many other family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Normand’s Life Celebration on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 1 until 4 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville (Ste. Therese's) Church, Dracut.
