LOWELL - Norman R. Guilbeault, age 75, a longtime resident of Lowell died Friday, October 22, 2021 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Michele (Beauchesne) Guilbeault, with whom he celebrated his 53rd wedding anniversary in September.
He was born in Lowell on February 15, 1946, and was the son of the late Raymond and Cecile (Belisle) Guilbeault. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He earned his bachelors degree from Lowell Technical College and his masters degree from Suffolk University in Boston.
Norman proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves.
He was employed for 30 years as a telecommunications manager by Colonial Gas Company in Lowell and then went on to work for BAE Systems in Hudson, NH in that same capacity for 12 years. He also served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries for many years.
Norman was a longtime communicant of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
He enjoyed traveling, especially to Naples, FL where he spent winters with his wife for nine years.
Norman's greatest joy in life was spending time in the company of his loving family and attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events throughout the years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Col Scott Guilbeault and his wife Marcelite of Lithia, FL, Andrea Marble and her husband John of Andover, and Jason Guilbeault and his wife Jenna of Lowell; six grandchildren, Davis Guilbeault, Cameron Guilbeault, Isabel Marble, Anna Marble, Jessica Allard, and Ava Guilbeault; his sister, Claire Beaton and her husband William, Sr. of Dracut; his sister-in-law, Colette Beauchesne of Lowell; a nephew, Steven Menard of Nashua, NH; two nieces, Lynn LaMontagne and her husband Gregg of York, ME and Susan Friberg and her husband William of Eliot, ME; and many close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Norman's Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday October 27th at 11:00am at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norman's memory to Tufts Medical Center Cancer Center, 800 Washington Street North, Building, 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02111.
