Norman DiRocco

Lowell - Norman "Grumpy" DiRocco, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and beloved husband of Carol A. (Bello) DiRocco, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 80.

Born in Lowell on June 16, 1944 he was a son of the late Stella M. (Mooney) DiRocco.

Norman grew up in Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School.

Prior to his retirement, Norman was employed as a meter reader and collector for the former Colonial Gas. He was also employed as a constable.

Norman enjoyed golfing and cribbage and looked forward to watching the Red Sox and Patriots. Most of all, Grumpy cherished the time spent with his family. He had a gift of making friends wherever he went. Everyone loved him.

Surviving him besides Carol, his beloved wife of 58 years, who took amazing care of him, are their three children, Paula Dumont, Carrie Sousa, Keith DiRocco; seven grandchildren, Courtney and her husband DJ, Kayla, Hannah, John, Amore, Kayden, Brayden; two great grandchildren, Brody and Hallie; a brother and sister in law, Leo and Bonnie DiRocco; brother in law and sister in law, Anthony and Constance Bello; many nieces nephews including his two Godsons Todd DiRocco and Todd Bello; his cousin Joe DiRocco; many friends including Bob Richardson, and Mike Pelletier. He was also the brother of the late Ralph DiRocco and father in law of the late Michael Dumont and John Sousa.

Relatives and friends are invited to Norman's Life Celebration in the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street from 4 until 7 PM on Wednesday. His Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
