Norbert R. Plouffe, of Lowell died at a local nursing home on Monday, June 27, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife Helen J. (Gazda) Plouffe, who died on December 15, 2005.
Born in Lowell on May 25, 1924, a son of the late Norbert Plouffe and Eugenie (Lavoie) Plouffe-Beaudette, Norbert was a lifelong resident of Lowell.
A veteran of WWII, Norbert served in the US Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 30 years as a machinist for the Raytheon Corporation at the Shawsheen and Andover plants. He retired in 1986.
Ray was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, and a member of IBEW Local 1505. He enjoyed photography, reading, and music.
Surviving him are his three daughters and spouses, Marianne and James Luedtke, and Deborah Courtemanche all of Dracut, Dorothy "Dotty" and John Hayes of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Jen, Keith, Andrew, Christina, John and his wife Karen, Angela and her husband Mark, Jonathan; six great grandchildren, Nicole, Mark, Alicia, Jennifer, Alexandra, Jeremy, Caity; three great great grandchildren, Loreyna, Kian, and Ella; a sister in law, Sophie Thibault of Tewksbury; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was pre deceased by many loving relatives.
