Lowell - Noella E. "Nell" (Germain) (Grimard) Murphy, widow of Rene Grimard, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, formerly of the Pawtucketville section died Monday April 6, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94.
Born in Canada on November 11, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Aurea (Godin) Germain.
Nell was a stitcher for many years, working at local mills; she then worked for many years as a nurse's aid, retiring from the Edith Norse Rogers, Veterans Hospital in Bedford.
She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc and former St. Louis de France Parishes.
Nell enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and gardening, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Lorraine and Raymond Wahlgren, Carole and Richard Mireault, all of Lowell; a sister Yvette Sweeney of Dracut; two grandchildren, Renee Waterhouse, Erik Mireault; three great grandchildren, Scott Waterhouse, Erika Waterhouse, Makena Waterhouse; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Lillian Houle, Leopold Germain, Gerard Germain, Yolande Dame, and Pauline Gauthier.
