Dracut - Noela M. (Houle) Dumond, 99, a 99 year resident of the town of Dracut died Thursday October 20, 2005, at her Dracut residence. She was the wife of the late Rene Dumond who died in 1990.
She was born in Dracut on January 10, 1906, a daughter of the late Zoel and Pamela (Dessureault) Houle. She was raised in Dracut and graduated from St. Louis Academy.
Before retiring she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, at the Tewksbury State Hospital in the medical records department and later with the Solomon Mental Health Center in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Church, and a member of the League of Catholic Women, St. Louis Ladies Sodality, Dracut Senior Citizens, Dracut Historical Society, Poor Clare Guild, National Council of Senior Citizens, the Union St. Jean Baptiste, and AARP. She was also a member of the St. Louis Academy Alumnae, and had established many scholarships for St. Louis Schools.
At the time of her death she was the oldest living Dracut born resident of the town.
Survivors include a sister Bernadette Matte of Lowell; several nieces and nephews, including Jeanne McGlinchey who lovingly cared for her in her later years at home until her death. She was also the sister of the late Blanche Vigeant of Dracut, Lucille Webster of CT, Rita Gorman of Dracut, Gertrude Bouffard of Pelham, NH, Raymond Houle of Jacksonville, FL, Louis Houle of Lowell, Leo Houle of Dracut, Dr. Emile Houle of Dracut, and Gilbert Houle of Dracut.
