Nancy (Allosso) Souza, 76, a longtime Dracut resident passed away on Saturday May 10, 2014 at The Palm Center in Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Souza who died on August 21, 2013. They were married for over 56 years.
Born and raised in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Gallo) Allosso.
Nancy was employed by the IRS until her retirement in 2001.
Nancy took great pleasure cooking and caring for her beloved husband, kids and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and excelled in trivia games and puzzles. She thoroughly enjoyed family time and going on long, scenic drives with her husband. She was a faithful parishioner and catechist of St. Michael Parish in Lowell.
Nancy is survived by her children, Edward Souza and his wife, Tracey of Dracut, Debra Madigan and her husband, Mark of Milford, NH, Carol Purpura and her husband, Robert of Dracut, Joseph Souza and his wife, Michelle of Hooksett, NH; 7 grandchildren: Jonathan Souza, James Madigan, Mark Madigan Jr., Michael Purpura, Danielle, Julianne and Nicole Souza and brothers Patrick Allosso of Woburn and Salvatore Allosso of Woodland, CA. She was predeceased by her brother Paul Allosso of Waltham. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Palm Center for their many years of wonderful care and support.
