Muriel L. (Brennan) (Crabtree) Allard, RN, the wife of the late David Crabtree and the late Raymond Allard, died on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Abbey Rehabilitation Center in Petersburg, FL. She was 91.
Muriel was born in Lowell on October 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Newton) Brennan.
She was educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1942. She studied nursing at the Ft. Devens School and enlisted in the US Navy. Muriel served as a Registered Nurse during WWII.
Upon her return to Lowell, Muriel continued her nursing career. She worked at the former St. John's Hospital, Lowell General Hospital ICU unit for 15 years, the former Christian Hill Nursing Home, Fairhaven Nursing Home, and hospice.
Muriel was a member of the St. John's Hospital Alumnae, and the American Legion in Seminole, FL.
Survivors include, her children, Timothy Crabtree and his wife Laine of MN, Kathleen Crabtree Harris of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Cara, Ian, and Jack Crabtree; two great grandchildren, Stephen Johnson, Brendan Crabtree; a sister, Alice O'Connell of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews including Thomas Hagan, Roger Hagan, both of Lowell, grandnephew Kevin Frappier of Nashua, NH, special niece and caretaker, Barbara Hagan of Dracut; and many cousins. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Hagan and Mildred Brennan.
