LOWELL - Mildred T. (Gendreau) Coomas, 91, a Lowell resident, died Friday, April 27, 2007 in a local nursing home. She was the widow of George J. Coomas.
Born in Dracut on May 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Cecilia (Leblanc) Gendreau.
Mrs. Coomas had been employed as a sales lady for the former Bon Marche Department Store. She had also worked in the Abbott Worsted Mills.
Mrs. Coomas was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
She was also a member of the Lowell Senior Citizens and enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods Casino to play bingo.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Ruth (Belleville) Coomas of Dracut and Thomas J. and Brenda (Peavey) Coomas of Tyngsboro; a daughter, Mary McLellan of Lowell; a sister, Laura Gaudette of Taunton; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Kathleen Rose Abston, and sister of the late Adoina Landry, Florence Hurley, Oveline LeBourdais, Louise Beauregard, Rose Denault and Clairina Pierce.
