Michael K. McCarthy

Michael Kevin McCarthy, 39, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at home.

He was born in Lowell on June 10, 1987 and was the son of Theresa “Terri” Erickson of North Billerica and the late Kevin McCarthy.

Michael valued his family and friends, working hard and savoring each day with his positive spirit. He had a love for movies, especially horror films and was always up for a trip to Hampton Beach, Maine or Vermont.

He cherished his dog, Chappie and his cat, Sox, whom offered unconditional love and joy.

In addition to his mother, Terri, he is survived by his sister, Kathleen Kiernan and her children; his brother, Brian Christian and his wife, Delisca and their five children, Kameryn, Raymond, Hazel, Victor and Summer of Fairfield, Vermont; his aunt, Victoria Mercado and her husband, George of Lowell; his uncle, Michael Erickson and his wife, Alyson of Ashland; as well as numerous cousins and his best friends, George and Stephanie Mercado of Florida and his close long time friend, Travis Rios of Lowell.

Relatives and friends are invited to Michael’s Life Celebration on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Burial will be held privately.
