He was born in Sorel, Canada on February 28, 1953, a son of the late Rolland Marcoux and Therese (Gendreau) Marcoux of Dracut, who survives him.
Mike graduated from Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical School. He worked for a short time as an electronic technician and then transitioned to working as a plumber with Elston Plumbing and Heating and later Gus Gauthier Plumbing and Heating.
He then established his own company, M.C. Co. Plumbing and Heating. He was known for his integrity and work ethic and he ran his company the old fashioned way with a steno pad and a handshake.
He worked for the Town of Andover for some 20+ years as an Assistant Plumbing Inspector and Plumbing Inspector. He was also a member of the Plumbing Inspectors Association.
He married the love of his life, Diane (Jean) Marcoux, and together they have shared 43 years of marriage and weathered the course together. Family was of supreme importance to him. As the patriarch of the family, he loved having everyone around and sharing his home for cookouts, campfires and gatherings. His door was always open. His magnetism drew young and old alike to his side. He mentored many and attended the events of all the children in the extended family as well.
His parents Rolland and Therese were a substantial influence in his life. They instilled hard work, honesty, caring, confidence, risk taking and selflessness in him. He was known as everyone's "go to guy". He believed in living his faith by the examples he set.
Mike cherished traveling to Lake Winnipesaukee, St. Martin, Las Vegas, and Canada. He relished attending concerts and treasured his first car, a 1962 Pontiac Starfire convertible.
Surviving him besides his mother and wife are a son, Michael M. Marcoux, Jr. and his wife Amanda; a daughter Danielle P. Marcoux all of Dracut; three grandchildren, Michaela, Matthew, and Maxime Marcoux; a sister and brother- in- law, Francine and Michel Chaput of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.
