Michael S. Dumont, 46, a resident of Lowell and Dracut, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Lowell General Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Paula C. (DiRocco) Dumont with whom he celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on October 10, 2012. Michael and Paula were high school sweethearts.
Born in Lowell on October 31, 1966, he was the son of Donna A. (Wroblewski) Dumont of Lowell and the late Francis R. Dumont.
Michael was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School, Class of 1986. He was currently employed at the School as a masonry instructor, a job he found a great passion for and enjoyed working with the students. He previously owned his own company, C&H Masonry of Lowell.
Michael was a member of St. Michael Parish.
Family meant everything to Mike. He had the biggest heart and it showed through his beautiful smile. He always put others before himself. His contagious smile, quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and genuine love was appreciated by all. Everyone enjoyed Michael's stories. He was generous with his time and many talents working on many fundraisers with his love Paula and none meant more than his labor of Love for the Shawn Dumont Annual Golf Classic that funded scholarships at GLTHS.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves his two loving daughters, Courtney A. Dumont, a sophomore at Greater Lowell Technical High School and Hannah G. Dumont, a 7th grader at St. Michael School; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Carol DiRocco; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Carrie Sousa and her husband John and Keith DiRocco; four cousins, Christopher Dumont and Steven Dumont, both of whom he called his brothers, Kathleen Cowgill and Kerry Inglis; his Godmother, Dianne Connell; his Godchildren, Leah Chasse, Evan Connell, Victoria Dumont and Michael Dumont; uncles and aunts, Roger Dumont, Gerard and Marianne Dumont, Dolores Dumont and Priscilla Dumont; also several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his father Francis' widow, Sandra Dumont and close friends, Robert Farley, William Meisner and Steve Desjardins. He was also the cousin of the late Shawn Dumont who died in 2010.
