Maurice Surprenant

June 1, 1937 — January 15, 2010

Maurice Surprenant, 72, a Dracut resident, died unexpectedly Friday January 15, 2010 at his Dracut residence. He was the husband of the late Constance (Provencher) Surprenant.
Born in Lowell on June 1, 1937, he was a son of the late Ernest and Bertha (Laferriere)Surprenant.
Maurice worked for many years as a presser for Anton's Cleaners. Porky as he was fondly referred to as, loved to play pool, cribbage, canasta and many other card games. He loved to reminisce and could usually be found holding a movie camera, watching home movies or taking pictures with his camera. Porky was a collector of many things. He had a passion for fishing, loved the beach and enjoyed watching the Red Sox. He was, at times, a chronic complainer his family lovingly admits but above all else, he was an excellent Pepere and loved all of his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Passe' Temps Club in Lowell.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda DeJesus and her husband, Lloyd with whom he resided in Dracut, Lisa Price of Lowell; three brothers, Walter Surprenant of Seabrook, NH, Ernest Surprenant and his wife, Helen of Lowell, Roger Surprenant and his wife, Lucille of Elyria, OH; four sisters, Yvette Martino of Lowell, Terry Gendron and her husband, Eddie of Lowell, Claire Watson and her husband, James of Dracut and Pauline of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Bradley, Miranda, Kristan, Brittany, Lonnie, Jessica; a great granddaughter, Jasmine; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Buddy. He was the brother of the late Robert Surprenant.
