TEWKSBURY - Maurice L. Perrin, a resident of Tewksbury, MA, formerly of Lowell, MA, and beloved husband of Margaret E. (Boyle) Perrin of 53 years, died at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was 78 years old.
Born in Lowell on October 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Roland Perrin and Agnes (Auger) Perrin.
Maurice attended the Lowell School system and shortly after, in 1964, enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a Boatwain's Mate, Third Class and overseas in France before he was honorably discharged in 1967.
Maurice worked as a Lead Foreman for Prince Packaging of Lowell for over 30 years and was known as a great Leader and Manager. He was also a member of the East End Social Club in Lowell for over 40 years, working as bartender for 25 of those 40 years. He was a member of the dart and cribbage league, as well.
Maurice coached the Centerville Senior baseball league as well as was an Assistant Coach for team Phillies with his sons for the Over 30 Baseball League. He was an avid Red Sox fan, where he would sit in his favorite chair in his "sports room" and never missed a game.
Maurice was known for his hard work and dedication to his family. He enjoyed woodworking and making things from scratch. When he was told how talented he was with his work, he would say "Jack of all trades, master of none".
Maurice was always willing to help anybody in need without asking questions. His heart was bigger than life. He was known as "Dad", "Moe", "Uncle Moe", "Grampa", "Bampy" and "Grampy Mouse".
Surviving Maurice besides his loving wife and best friend, Peggy, are three sons, David Perrin and his wife Jill of Nashua, NH, Ronny Perrin and his fiancé, Christine Freitas of Dracut, Stephen Perrin and his wife Tanya of Tyngsboro, and his daughter, Alyson DiTucci and her husband Ralph of Dracut. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Theresa Midgley of Townsend and her late husband William Midgley, Gerard and Evelyn Perrin of Brooksville, Florida, Paul Perrin of Townsend, Henry and Diane Perrin of Lowell; 15 grandchildren, Jodi, Thomas, Kristin, Nicole, Christopher, Danielle, Keri, Courtney, Ashley, Tayler, Jason, Dominique, Joshua, Amanda and Cameron and 15 great-grandchildren, who he adored; also many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Maurice's Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday. His funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
