Maurice P. "Moe" Cote

COTE - Maurice P. "Moe" Cote, Sr., a lifelong resident of Lowell died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Brabant) Cote, whom he has been married to for 49 years.

He was born in Lowell on March 17 ,1949, and was a son of the late David K. and Edna (Martineau) Cote. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Prior to his illness, Moe was employed for 10 years by Hampshire Chemicals in Nashua, NH. Previous that he was employed 17 years by Olin Chemicals in Wilmington.

He enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods Casino and taking walks through Pawtucketville and talking to his neighbors along the way. A favorite day for Moe consisted of going on one of these walks, stopping at the Pawtucketville Diner, heading home with some scratch tickets, and finally some wing dings from Dracut House of Pizza.

Moe also cherished his time spent with faithful Rat Terrier, the late Jasmine.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Brian Cote; his daughter, Alisha Hines, both of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Jaryd Cote, Joseph Hines, Desiree Thornton, Camryn Cote, Kayla Cote, Mason Cote all of Lowell. Lyndsay Cote of Billerica and Savanna Hines of Nashua NH; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Cote of Lowell and Bruce Cote and his wife Connie of Hudson, NH; two sisters, Penny Cote and Irene Coates and her husband Jim, all of Lowell; A special thanks to Debbie Jordan, a special friend, for always making sure he was well groomed; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Maurice P. "Moe", Jr. who died July 25, 2018 and the brother of the late David T. Cote.

ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Moe's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, on Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moe's memory to Circle Home Hospice, 847 Rogers St., Suite 201, Lowell, MA 01852.
