LOWELL – Maurice H. Bergeron, 86, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013 at the Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the beloved husband of Jeannine B. (Thibeault) Bergeron, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 6, 2012.
Born in Lowell on January 25, 1927, he was a son of the late Onil and Bernadette (Richard) Bergeron.
Mr. Bergeron retired from the L.F.E. Company of Clinton where he was employed as a materials manager. Previous employments included the B and M Railroad for 19 years and Raytheon Corp. of Andover for 6 years.
Mr. Bergeron was active in the Parish community of the former St. Louis de France Parish where he served as a collector and was a member of both the Holy Name Society and the Parish Men's Club. He was currently a parishioner of Ste. Marguerite D' Youville Parish in Dracut.
He also volunteered as a bingo caller at the Dracut Senior Center.
His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Lowell General Hospital and Cancer Center for the compassionate care that was given to him during his illness.
In addition to his wife he leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Michael Guilmette and Bernice and Theodore Faber; a brother, Donald Bergeron; three grandchildren, Michael Guilmette and his wife Vanessa, David Guilmette and his wife Jennifer and Amanda Faber; two great grandchildren, Michaela and Mia Guilmette; also several nieces and nephews. He also leaves several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doris Bergeron of Dracut, Mary Bergeron of ME, Dorothy Bergeron, Jeannette Desroches, Pauline and Leo Cloutier, Viola and Andy Dussault, Claudette Mountain, all of Lowell, Roland and Marilyn Thibeault of Methuen. He was a brother of the late Ernest, Pete and Normand Bergeron; brother-in-law of the late Ranette Bergeron, Lorraine and Robert Germain, Alphonse Thibeault, Jr. and Phillip Desroches.
