Maureen B. (Neves) Caires, born February 12, 1955, died at her home on February 9, 2018. She was the only child of the late John Neves and his surviving wife Maria (Melim) Neves.
Maureen leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Celestino Caires, her son Adam Caires of Brighton, MA and her daughter Risa Caires, along with her long time partner Corey Felt, both of Lowell, MA. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless people who she loved and was loved by.
Maureen's greatest joys in life included spending time with her family sharing in precious moments of laughter and togetherness. She loved all animals, but had the most special bond with her pug Buster. Maureen proudly declared herself an old hippie, always believing in peace and love and wanting to share goodness with the world. She would not want for those she leaves behind to remember her with sorrow, but to instead carry on in her tradition of giving generously, loving completely, and making the world a better place through genuine acts of kindness.
A Funeral Mass honoring her life will be held on Monday, February 19 at 5:00pm at St. Anthony's Parish, 893 Central St, Lowell, MA 01852
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund for Maureen's cousin Hayden Caires. Checks can be made out to Edward Jones c/o Hayden Caires and mailed to Edward Jones, 6 Alpine Lane, Chelmsford MA., 01824.
