Matthew Michael Reeney, age 27, a lifelong resident of Lowell died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston with his loving parents by his side following a lifelong hard-fought and courageous battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease and struggle with autism.
He was born in Lowell on May 4, 1995, and was the cherished son of Michael E. and Lisa A. (Trott) Reeney. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Matthew’s greatest joys in life were going for long car rides with his father, listening to music, visiting bookstores, collecting dictionaries and watching Pixar and Disney movies, especially Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc..
Throughout the years, Matthew had two life saving kidney transplants with donor kidneys from his father and his uncle, John Carnevale. Because of this his parents are asking you to consider donating to New England Donor Services.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, including his Godparents, DeDe Jurgelewicz and Jonathan Reeney; and his lifelong friend, Vinnie Parent.
He was also the grandson of the late Robert and Mary Trott and Edward and Ann Reeney.
