MaryEllen R. Warsnip

October 30, 1943 — March 7, 2011

MaryEllen Rita (Ritchotte) Warsnip, 67, passed away Monday March 7, 2011 at Lowell General Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of the city and active for many years in the Greater Lowell Community. In 1966 she married Louis E. Warsnip, Sr. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary this past November.
Mrs. Warsnip was born in Lowell on October 30, 1943 to the late Joseph Raymond and Rose (Golden) Ritchotte. She was educated at St. Michael School and graduated Lowell High School in 1961. After completing Lowell Hair Academy, she was employed by and eventually became sole proprietor of The Beverly Beauty Salon. MaryEllen and the ‘beauty shop’ had become a solid fixture in Belvidere, on High Street, for the past 41 years. Along with being a small business owner, wife and mother, Mrs. Warsnip was also very active in many church, school and fraternal organizations. A parishioner at St. Michael Church her entire life, she was active for many years with the School and Church fundraising activities. She was a member of the Friends of Lowell High School for many years, including serving two terms as Co Presidents with her husband. She was actively involved for more than a decade with the Lowell High School Performing Arts especially “The Spindles”, the award winning Show Choir. Mrs. Warsnip was also a past president at various times for the East End Social Club, Ladies Auxiliary, contributing to many charities.
Surviving her besides her husband are her three children, Angela Warsnip and her husband, Robert O’Donnell of Milford NH, Stefanie Warsnip of Franconia, NH and Louis E. "Sparky" Warsnip, Jr. and his wife Melissa (Nikolaides) of Lowell; two grandsons, Louis E. "Tripp" Warsnip, III of Lowell and Joshua Peno of Nashua; two sisters, Anne Margret Kozak and her husband, Thomas of Colorado Springs, CO and Katherine Ritchotte of Nashua NH; one brother, Francis Ritchotte and his wife, Bernadette of Auburn; NH; an aunt, Mrs. Alice Ritchotte of Lowell ;an uncle, Mr. Raymond DeLuca of Lowell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins to whom she loved dearly, as well as her godchildren and dear friends, including Mrs. Mary Courtemarche of Lowell.
