LOWELL – Mary L. (Lavigne) Wiggins, 50, a longtime resident of Lowell died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Douglas E. Wiggins, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 33 years of marriage in May.
She was born in Lowell on May 20, 1965, and was the daughter of the late Francis J. Lavigne, Sr. and the late Theresa f. (StOurs) Lavigne. She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Prior to her illness, Mary was employed for many years as a teller by TD Bank in Lowell.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
In her free time Mary loved to go the zoo and to River Hawks games. She also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, going to Salisbury and Hampton Beach, and above all, spending time in the company of her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Douglas E. Wiggins, Jr. and his wife Stephanie and Derek K. Wiggins, all of Lowell; two brothers, Paul Lavigne, Sr. and his wife Carol of Lowell and Roland Lavigne and his wife Debra of Arizona; four sisters, Pauline Sunderland and her husband John of Derry, NH, Janet Boudreau of Derry, NH, Doris Bouchard and her husband Roger of Iowa, and Theresa Stransky and her husband Kerry of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Francis J. Lavigne, Jr. and the aunt of the late Francis J. Lavigne, III.
