Mary T. (Hebert) Small, 82, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Thursday July 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Allan F. Small of Lowell.
Born in Lowell on June 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Duffy) Hebert.
Spending time with her husband and family was a joy in her life. After raising the family with Allan, they spent some time travelling. Mary worked for many years at the Hallmark gift shop in Kearney Sq. and later did volunteer work at Saints Memorial Hospital. Mary loved to walk the neighborhood, read books, and watch old movies. She had an extensive collection.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Allan P. Small of Lowell, Gary J. Small and his wife, Deborah Cassin of Chelmsford, Stephen J. Small of Lowell; two daughters, Mary Anne Faneuf and her husband, Bob of Tewksbury, Colleen Brooks of Lowell; three grandsons, Andrew Small of NJ, Ricky and Mike Brooks of NH; a brother- in-law, Walter Small of Chelmsford; a sister-in-law, Eileen Finch and her husband, Bob of Lowell; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Hebert and by her dear friends, Marie Gallagher and Eleanor Quinn.
Mary's family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care received by staff members at Elder Services, Merrimack Valley Hospice and Wingate at Belvidere Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.
