Mary A. Picanso, 70, died peacefully on Tuesday October 11, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica following a period of declining health. She was the widow of the late Manuel Picanso.
Born in Ireland on January 11, 1941, she was a daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Joyce) Keane.
Mary had a passion for and took pride in being a Eucharistic Minister and Sacrosanct and also volunteering, cleaning, and decorating at St. Francis Church in Dracut.
"Gram" as she was affectionately known to many, had a love of the ocean and walking on the beach. She was a music lover, especially Irish and country music and also enjoyed Irish dancing. Mary always had a positive outlook on life. She was never a quitter and gave her all to everything she did. Her strength and optimism was an inspiration to others. She will be missed by her family and friends every day.
Survivors include three daughters and their spouse, Jackie and James Hannon of Tewksbury, Nicola Murray of Lowell and Robert Feeney of Wilmington, Denise Ryall of England; brothers and sisters, James Keane, Bri'd Kelliher, Norah and John Mills, Pa'raic and Ella Keane, Rita and Brendan Maunsell, Rev. John Dillon Keane, Michael and Catherine Keane all of Ireland; five grandchildren, James Dillon Perry, Shalagh Hannon, James Hannon, Mitchell Ryall, Myles Ryall, Hamish Ryall; seventeen nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eileen Keane and Timothy Kelliher.
