LOWELL - Mary Joan "M.J." Rourke, 35, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
M.J. was born in Lowell on May 7, 1985, a daughter of the late Stephen L. Rourke, Jr. and Mary Joan (Mayo) Rourke.
M.J. was currently employed by Crest Collaborative in Andover as an I.T. technician.
She was a graduate of Lowell High School where she was a four year member of the Field Hockey team. M.J. had also played PYO basketball and softball coached by her father Steve.
She was an excellent cook and hoped to someday own her own restaurant. Most important to M.J. was time spent with her daughter Olivia and her extensive family.
In addition to her mother she leaves her beloved daughter Olivia Lillian Rourke; two siblings, Meghan Rourke and her fiancé Patrick Sheehey and William Rourke and his wife Erin (Doherty) Rourke; a niece, Emma Rose Sheehey; her Godmother, Karen Golden; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to M.J.'s Life Celebration on Friday from 3 until 8 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Due to health restrictions, face coverings and social distancing are required. Services will be private.
