Mary Isabelle (Greene) Daigle, 95, a resident of Dracut for more than 60 years, died Thursday July 10, 2014 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center following a brief period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ludger M. Daigle.
Isabelle was born in Lowell on October 21, 1918. She was one of twelve children born to the late Hugh V. and Mary Anne (Bouchard) Greene.
Isabelle worked at Courier Citizen in Lowell as a proof reader until her retirement in 1978. After she was married, she moved to Dracut where she lovingly raised her five children. Isabelle was very active in the Dracut community having been instrumental in the development of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club. She held every officer position in the club and helped build it into the well-attended club that it is today. Through the club, she made many dear friends and memories and treasured them all. Isabelle was very independent and remained so, well into her 90's. She enjoyed crafting, knitting and sewing. She was a faithful communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut.
She will be dearly missed by her children that survive her, Robert L. "Bob" Daigle and his wife, Linda of Hudson, NH; David H. Daigle and his wife, Susan of Dracut; Gary J. Daigle and his wife, Diane of Pelham, NH; Luanne Houston and her husband Robert K. "Bob" of Litchfield, NH; a son-in-law, Robert J. Mungovan of Casselberry, FL; ten grandchildren, Lisa Daigle; Melanie Jozokos; Keith Daigle; Kevin Daigle; Robert Mungovan; Kellie Mungovan; Ryan Daigle; Christopher Houston; Matthew Houston; Craig Houston; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Linda M. Mungovan, grandmother of the late Kimberly Mungovan and sister of the late Hugh Greene, William Greene, L. Phillip Greene, M. Frances Zapenas, Francis Greene, John B. Green, Margaret Mullen, Walter F. Green, Mary Ruth Greene, Thomas P. Greene and Frederick J. Greene.
