Mary C. FitzGerald

Lowell- Mary C. FitzGerald, 43, a resident of Centralville section of Lowell, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 9. Born in Lowell on April 5, 1961, she was a daughter of Leonard and Shirley (Vachon) FitzGerald of Lowell. She attended Lowell schools and was a 1980 graduate of the Greater Lowell Regional Technical High School.
She was employed by the Bedford VA Hospital for 20 years most recently as a supervisor of the Outpatient Psychiatric Dept.. Very dedicated to her work, she was an advocate for many of the patients and will be remembered as being very compassionate. She enjoyed traveling and was a lover of animals and also assisted coaching the Lowell Youth Soccer League.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, James P. FitzGerald of Lowell; four sisters, Kathleen FitzGerald-Babb and her husband Philip of Holbrook, Lynne FitzGerald of Milton, Gail Ostendarp and her husband Carl of Ithaca, NY and Lisa FitzGerald-Wagner and her husband Joseph of Foster City, CA; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her beloved partner Joe Williams of Lowell.
