Mary F. Barrett

Mary F. Barrett passed away following a brief illness on Thursday February 5, 2015.  She was 89.
 
Miss Barrett was born in Lowell on January 5, 1926, daughter of the late John H. and Marion (Nerney) Barrett.
 
Mary was the oldest of six children.  She was a graduate of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing and enlisted in the US Navy at 22. She attended John's Hopkins University with concentration in Anesthesiology.  Mary was stationed in Naples Italy, Kodiak Alaska and Midway Island Hawaii in her 22 years of service.  She spoke most fondly of her stay in Hawaii.  Mary retired from the military to completely devote her life to her family.
 
Mary is survived by one sister Alice McKinley of Los Angeles, CA, nieces and nephews, Ann Ouellette, David Ouellette, Helen (Pare') Dempsey & Barry Dempsey, Martha (Pare') Wyman, grandnieces and nephew, Mohsani Hoveyda, Falicia Wyman, Tyler Dempsey and Ellianna Ouellette.  She was also the sister of the late Jane Pare', Catherine Ouellette, John David Barrett and Thomas Barrett.
